Canoeing, for most people, does not elicit much of a response. This is because most people have not gone canoeing. It’s no surprise, then, that this type of indifference exists.
Canoeing is one of those things where people don’t know what they are missing until they try it. When does a person go canoeing for the first time? Do they try when they are 10, 20, or 30 years old?
Imagine a person, who is 60 years old, tries canoeing for the first time. Imagine also that they have the time of their life. But they are 60 years old! That person would likely feel two emotions. The first is a type of sadness because they missed out canoeing throughout their whole life. However, a better and more powerful emotion would be happiness. This is because they have finally found an activity they love! This person can now spend all of their free time doing what they love most. If that love it canoeing, then they will surely do that.
We should not wait until we are 60 years old to canoe. As a matter of fact, we should try most activities before then. Canoeing, fishing, snowboarding, hiking, traveling, and other activities are things to live for. If canoeing is someone’s favorite activity then great! If it isn’t their favorite activity then at least they tried it for the first time and were able to decide if they like it or not. The important thing is to try it. Don’t be like the 60 year old!
Canoeing is a great activity for so many reasons. It clears the mind, it’s great for exercise, and it gives one the sense of freedom. In a world of so much work and little play, it’s important for everyone to have some downtime. Canoeing is the perfect answer.
